What is a "Boot Camp"?
Simply put, a BCAC Boot Camp is a training and
information day put on by the senior and more advanced players
in the club. They are set up and designed to teach players some
of the basic skills that will be required and needed for improving
your personal play and attending future MILSIM events.
Who should attend a Boot Camp?
Anyone and everyone looking to learn, hone or
pick up new skills. Both veteran and new players can come away
with something learned from a Boot Camp. Skills learned a long
time ago can be refreshed and practiced along with learning some
new techniques and variations.
Is there a lot of yelling and making me do push-ups at a BCAC
Boot Camp?
No. We only took the term from the military,
not the idealology. We do ask though, that you come with an open
mind and willingness to learn and try some new (or not so new)
things. There will be Q&A sessions during each 'exercise',
so have your questions ready for the instructors...this is a great
time to ask!
How old do I have to be and do I need to be a BCAC member to attend
a bootcamp?
Age is restricted to minimum 18yrs old and no
you do not have to be a BCAC member to attend. The cost is around
$20 - $30 to attend. That includes a full day of training and
usually a big skirmish or two at the end of the day to try out
your newly acquired skills!
